Why auto repair shops are going digital, and what's in it for you

Auto repair shops have recently been moving towards making their repair order and reporting process paperless. They aren’t the first industry to be doing so, and the financial, environmental, and organizational benefits have been made clear by the many industries that have come before them in the journey to a paperless workplace. Printing and paper costs are cut, paper waste is eliminated, and everything is stored in one place, with easy search functions and secure back-ups. This transition, however, isn’t just affecting the shop and its employees. It’s also making a big impact on their customers. Typically, when you take your car in to the shop, your car’s diagnosis and necessary repairs are explained to you by your service advisor, and it’s up to you to take that information at face value. Coolant leak creates tiny stalactites

Coolant leak creates tiny stalactites

Coolant leaks don't normally do this, but we had an odd occurrence in the shop today when we found some coolant fluid that had leaked and formed icicle-shaped drips that ended up drying that way. This happened because this coolant fluid had sealant in it that dries when it hits air (not desirable for coolant fluid). Leaks like this can cause future problems - clogs in the heater core, etc - so we're glad we caught it when we did

Toys For Tots G&C TIre and Auto 2016 - Collecting Toys From Nov 23rd to Dec23rd

G&C Tire and Auto Service has been a Toys For Tots collection site for over 15 years.  This is something that the owners, Gregg and Christina Caldwell are passionate about; helping local children in need.  Gregg was in the Marines from 1985 to 1989 and his oldest son is currently in the United States Marine Corps.  Every year they spend thousands of the their own money to buy new unwrapped toys for the Toys For Tots program.  This year is the first year that G&C has also been a pick up location for other local business to get supplies for this event.  Interested in participating in this worthy cause?  Come by G&C Tire and Auto Service to pick up a collection box.
